7 Years

From registering darlingtree.com to write a blog to now, it has been 7 years. 7 years seems long, but it has passed in the blink of an eye.

7 years ago, I was a university freshman who had just finished the college entrance examination. The impression of that summer vacation was very long, and the three-year college entrance examination journey finally came to an end, and I finally welcomed the long-lost freedom. At that time, I didn’t have to touch those exam papers anymore, and I could play with the computer every day. At that time, blogs were popular, and everyone wanted to open a blog to write, and I couldn’t be an exception. However, at that time, I felt that opening a blog was not as good as making one myself, so that I could design the template and interface myself, and it would be different from others. 7 years have passed, and I still haven’t changed in this regard:)

7 years have passed, and the blog has been here all the time, but I haven’t always persisted in writing. However, the more than 100 articles stored here still faithfully record many moments of my 7 years. When reading from the beginning, sometimes I feel that the ideas I wrote at that time are naive and ridiculous, sometimes I feel that I was mature and terrible at that time, sometimes I see my radical ideas and want to delete them immediately, and sometimes I feel that the logic I wrote at that time is so flawless that I feel that even if I use the same topic to write again now, I may not be able to write as well as before.

From a high school student to a doctoral student, from China to the United States, from PHP to Haskell, many things have changed in 7 years.

However, some things will not change:

For example, every October, I will still go to see the latest Chinese theatrical version of Conan on time.

Also, for example, every summer vacation, I will still tinker with my own website.

And now I still like to study how to Hack, and even make it my profession.

I still have many animals and plants around me:)

From today on, this blog will use the domain name quake0day.com, which is also a new starting point for me. In the next 7 years, I hope I can successfully obtain my doctoral degree, find a suitable job, and build a warm family. 7 years later, I hope I can still write this blog like today.

This time, I finally successfully transferred the darlingtree.com domain name to the Godaddy host, and the whole process was relatively smooth. The previous domain name registrar, Anbang Data, has gone bankrupt and cannot be renewed, so the domain name must be transferred to a new network before it can be transferred abroad. After filling out and scanning several forms, I finally managed to retain the darlingtree.com domain name. Now, darlingtree.com still points to the original website, and I am slowly migrating the original website’s content over. The text part of the blog has been fully migrated, and only the pictures and some small programs have not been migrated yet. It should be fully migrated soon.

This time, I chose Linode’s VPS as the host for the blog. Recently, I am fascinated by FP, so I used Haskell to make this blog. Due to my limited level, many basic functions of the blog have not been implemented yet. After all, the second development based on Haskell cannot be compared with mature blog systems like WordPress. I will add important functions according to my needs.
